Mr. Epp
Jeremy Epp
Social Sciences
I am originally from Arthur, Nebraska. I graduated from high school with a class total of thirteen. Arthur County is a small school that plays six-man football. In 1994, Arthur won the Class D3 State Championship in football. It was a great experience growing up in a small town with great teachers and a strong community.
I attended college at Chadron State College which is located in the Northwest corner of Nebraska. I had the opportunity to experience college basketball under Coach Dan Beebe. Dan set a good example of his faith in God, his organization and drive to put Chadron at the competition level needed to compete in the RMAC. I graduated from Chadron State in May of 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with Endorsements in Social Sciences and Coaching. My coaching experience started with a connection from CSC to Chadron High. Jim English allowed me to do my internship with the Boys' Basketball team. I was then hired to be the assistant the next year in 2000-01.
In 2000 I did my student teaching at Gordon High School and the Hot Springs Middle School in Hot Springs, South Dakota. I was also allowed to help in football under Kevin Stein in Gordon. My first teaching job started in 2001 in Maxwell High School in Maxwell, Nebraska. It is located Fifteen miles east of North Platte. At Maxwell I taught Government, American History, Modern Problems, Weights and 7th grade Life Science. I was the assistant football coach and the girls' assistant basketball coach. I am going into my fifth year employed by Southern Valley and am enjoying the students, faculty and community. I finished my Master's degree from UNK in Education Administration this last summer.
My wife is named Tamara (Tammy) Epp and she was the Fitness Director at the Cozad Community Wellness Center. She is certified in personal training, mat science I and II, and group fitness. This would include classes like yoga and pilates. We were married in North Platte, Nebraska on June 15, 2002. Tammy know owns and manages Curves for Women in Holdrege and McCook, Nebraska. She is excited about her new venture in fitness. We have one child, Titus James, and a pet Amazon Bird named Squirt. We attend the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.
In 2007-2008 I will be teaching American Government, American History, World History and Geography. This site will help explain a little about each of these courses. I am also excited to use new technology in the classroom. I will also be an assistant football coach working with Head Coach Mr. Reed and assistant Mr. Schoenfelder. In spring I will be the Head Golf coach. Please call the school at (308) 868-2222 and I will return the call as soon as possible. If it is an emergency you may call my cell after school at (308) 520-0259. Thank you and enjoy the school year.
