Resume Builder
Here are two FREE resume builder websites. Both of these sites will save your resume and allow you to make changes as needed.
EducationQuest - I feel this is the easiest one to use.
www.educationquest.org
- One the left, click on "Activities Resume."
- It will ask for your email and password. Even if you have never used this site before, enter your email and whatever password you can remember for later use.
- Enter in personal information. This information will appear on your resume.
- Click which headings you want to appear on your resume, or you may add your own heading.
- Add activities and years. For year, you can put the actual years (ex. 2007, 2008) or you can put 9, 10, 11, 12 for years in high school that you participated.
Nebraska Career Information Service (NCIS)
www.necis.intocareers.org
- Log on to NCIS. If this is your first time on use the following User Name: 07svalleyhs Password: H0027 (case sensitive)
- Click on "Personal Learning Plan" in top right corner.
- Click on "Create Personal Learning Plan."
- Enter in personal information. This info will appear on your resume.
- It will also ask you to create a new user name and password. I tell students to use their first letter of their first name and their last name (ex. mhunt). I also tell them to use their same password that they use to log on to a school computer. That way they only have to remember one password. However, they must have at least one non-alphabetical character. If their school password is "football," I suggest they have their NCIS password be "football1".
- Click on "My Education and Work History."
- There are categories on the left.
