Summary of School Immunization Rules & Regulations 2006 - 2007
Beginning on July 1, 1999, and thereafter, each student shall be protected by immunization against the following diseases, unless otherwise exempted from this requirement under the provisions of Section 009 of the Nebraska Administrative Code 173.
Students enrolling for the first time (Kindergarten or 1st Grade), students entering 7th grade and all transfer students from outside the state regardless of grade they are entering are considered immunized if they have received:
- 3 Doses - Hepatitis B Vaccine
- 3 Doses - DTaP, DTP, DT, or Td Vaccine, one dose given on or after the 4th Birthday
- 3 Doses - Polio Vaccine
- 2 Doses - MMR Vaccine
- 1 Dose - Varicella (Chickenpox)
(Written documentation, including year, of varicella disease from parent, guardian, or health care provider will be accepted)
Each student shall be protected against the diseases listed using the standards described and shall submit evidence of immunization as described. Complete regulations may be found on the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Immunizations website.
NOTE: Chickenpox Vaccine requirement for the 2006 - 2007 school year includes Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, and 9th, plus ALL transfer students from outside the State of Nebraska, regardless of grade.
Any student who does not comply with these requirements shall not be permitted to continue in school, except if that child has provided documentation for Medical or Religious Exemption.
